Goog-o-ly eye!

I went in to check on Henry this morning and *gasp* his right eye was swollen shut! After another trip to the doctor and pharmacy, we now know it was due to an insect bite of some kind. Poor little monkey!
Today was also the day of his first haircut. He did well, but the hairstylist cut it WAY TOO SHORT for mommie's liking. DAMN IT! It's very cute, and I'm glad he was able to get his hair cut. It's just too short. I felt like crying, then consoled myself with Culvers frozen custard. (I still don't feel better.)
Well, I'll have to post a picture, but I just can't bring myself to do it yet.

Quick Update

I don't have much time, and I should be working, so here's a quick one for you:

*We are going to Chicago this weekend for some family time/anniversary celebration/ first time with Henry at the Aquarium and zoo. Should be AWESOME.

*We took Henry to his first movie (A real drive in) this weekend. We saw Horton Hears a Who and Nims Island. It was the first time we have seen a movie together since his birth 16 months ago...Picture is attached... The dark figures in the background are Paul and Wayne, and they were attending the movie with us as well. Hi guys!

*I gave a kid a scholarship for my chairty last night. It was crazy- there was construction and I almost missed the whole thing. I presented, and was out of the building within about 5 minutes. He was happy, so it was worth the 3 hour drive. (It was Hard on Henry, though...)

*This week is going to be long, since I am so excited about this weekend!

ummm, yeah.

My poor little monkey has some serious digestive pyrotechnics going on. He is on some major anibiotics.Therefore, I am now the poopsmith. (Strongbad, anyone?)I am doing a ton of poop laundry, and hopefully the trip back the the pediatriciian will make me comfortable enough to leave him alone while he sleeps. (I have not done that since his seizure.)We are at our wits end, but we are making it through minute by minute.To add insult to injury, when I was washing out some of the poop last night, sewage started to come up through the bathtub. Uhhh, WTF!?!?!?I left it for Dan, and he tried to plunge it, and then, TAH DAH! WATER STARTED LEAKING FROM OUR KITCHEN CIELING!!! (our bathroom is on the second floor.)So, we now have an appointment with the plumber in the morning (It was the soonest they could get here) and appointment with the pediatrician (Henry and I will be there today) and an appointment with the window guy (Did I mention our windows are unsafe and Henry could fall out of them if they are not replaced?) Tomorrow.Umm, if I don't start drinking heavily, it's because my love for Henry is keeping me from it. I'm seriously considering taking the leftover darvocet from my c-section.I kid! (But just barely.)Calgon, take me away.Now I need to clean the house and get my work done.I need a vacation.M.

The scariest day...

Yesterday was the single scariest day in my life.
Before you read on, know Henry is ok.
Henry had a seizure last night due to a temperature spike. We were at some friends house for dinner, and we had to call 911 and take him to the emergency room.
I'm still reeling, and we are on 24 hour watch to keep his temp down.
My boy developed pneumonia with no symptoms. Poor little buddy.
Say a prayer for ue, and I'll update soon.

UPDATE!!!!

Another update from me! A shocker, I know!
This weekend in the citywide garage sale. We probably don't have anough stuff for a garage sale, but since I paid the five bucks to put our address on the map, we're going to open up from at least 8am until noon. After that, I don't feel bad if we need to close up shop.
We went to a few of the early open garage sales today, and bought a few toys for Henry, a new bedskirt and sheet set from pottery barn kids (So cute!) and some little japanese baubles for the upstairs guest room. I am wishing I had bought the bumpers that match the sheets and skirt now, but I'll maybe drive back up there and see if they are still available. I'm not sure, but I just think they are a good deal, and why not?!!
I finally downloaded some new pictures from my camera...let's see what we've got here...
