One Month Old

Here are some pictures today of tummy time and some smiles. What a cutie!
As an aside, when I first decided I wanted to have children, I bought this outfit. It was about 6 years ago. It's a little French outfit by Absorba, and it was always a symbol for me that I would someday have a child. It has moved with me a few times, and today was the first day it was ever worn. Henry is a realization of a lifelong dream, and a 6 year quest.

Happy Valentines Day!

My little valentine just had his one month checkup. He is 11 pounds, 8 oz, and has grown two inches in length, and one inch in the head. Well done, breastfeeding! Way to go, mammaries!
Today, I have just been working on the house, trying to catch up on laundry. This little man generate so much! I'm doing two loads a day, if I stay on top of it. Today I have 3-4 loads to do. I know it sounds terribly exciting, but really, I don't mind at all.
It's 1:22, and I have still not made myself lunch. Yikes. Welcome to motherhood.

One Month Today!

My sweet Henry was born four weeks ago today. He smiled for the first time on Wednesday. He is growing and changing, and I love him more every day.
I went to a day care center to tour it today. I'm looking for care for Henry in one month when I have to go back to work. The lady who gave me the tour was SO DUMB. I hated every minute of it. I cried all the way home. How am I going to do this????
I'll try to get some pics of Henry to post today for being four weeks old. He is so cute!!!

New pair of pants.

I have to say, yesterday was a banner day. Not only was it FREEZING in Illinois, but I bought my first new pair of regular jeans since before I was pregnant. They are only one size larger than my prepregnancy size, so I am pretty happy about that! (It is only about three weeks since he was born! Not too shabby!)
I am so happy ot no longer be wearing maternity pants, I can hardly even explain it. Waist, welcome back! I missed you pockets! Regular length shirts, hello ladies!
We'll be staying home for the next couple of days due to the extreme cold. It was -31 degrees with the wind chill this morning. They are actually cancelling school here it is so cold!
We had a dinner party this weekend with our friends. It was so nice to see them with Henry!
I'm trying to purge stuff from the house. (How did we get so much stuff? I want to purge our junk! Is this a hormonal thing? Did anyone else feel like this?)
Anyway, I have Henry in the Baby Bjorn, and we are crusing all over the house to find offending junk. I hope I can get rid of a bunch.

Three Weeks old

My little Henry is three weeks old. (Well, he was yesterday. He is now three weeks and one day...)

I took some pictures of him to amuse and delight. He seems to be smiling and making more noises, which I really enjoy.

I'm not so sure about this co sleeping thing anymore. We have hardly any room in the bed, so maybe Mr. Henry will get to sleep in his very own pack and play again. We'll see.
