Very hard day

Henry has been very sick today.
It started this morning at 6am with a 103 degree fever, and culminated in the ER after a seizure in the car on the way back from the Dr's office. (Figures! Seizure AFTER the Dr.'s visit.)
It was so scary, and I'm just glad he is healthy and alive.
Today, we are trying to get him to drink as much as possible, and watching whatever he wants. (Little people, Wall- E, Cars, Cinderella, the works.) We usually don't allow tv time like this, but today, he gets almost anything he wants.
Here's to being thankful for a little boy named Henry. Let's hope this doesn't happen again.
XO, M.

To buy used or new?

When we moved here, we were really trying to save money. (As we still are.) When Dan came up before Henry and I did, he bought a washer and dryer for us used at a local store. When we started using them, the washer sounded like the engine room of the Titanic. (CH CHUG CH CHUG) but the store did come out and fix it. The Dryer is very hot, and has only one setting- WRINKLE.
So, I called the lady at the store a couple of months ago, asking if I could get credit for a trade in on the dryer to buy something else. (She was a VERY RUDE old BAG, and the answer was I am an idiot and no.)
Anyway, this morning, I went to restart the laundry, and everything seemed wet. Hmmmm. I'll rewash, just in case.
Then I went down to check on the laundry and switch it, and everything was wet, in a different spot in the washer. Ummm, I had better spin this.
Now I get to the spin cycle. I hear this: WRRRRRRRRRRRRR. (but nothing is moving on the ideise of the machines.)
Oh, man.Dan's down there trying to fix it now. But, we may be replacing these pieces of junk very soon. Not really in the budget, but oh well. I guess I should be happy we got two years out of the old ones.
As for a little positive news, we had to make a trip to Wally-World for a few essentials the other day, and I think we might have encountered an angel on earth. A woman was walking up to her car next to us. I was getting Henry out of the car, and she began a little small talk with Dan, "What a beautiful boy! What an Angel! Oh look at that face" (I love it when people compliment him...) Then, she was waiting patiently for us to get Henry out of the car (not a small thing in a busy parking lot), and stopped us to say, I have puppies! Would you like to pet some puppies? She pulled out these baby chocolate labs, and let Henry touch and love on them. She was a ray of light in a gloomy day. You never know when someone is going to just make your day. Thanks, puppy lady.

It has been so long!

Maybe a list this time?
-Henry was up all night last night. I curse the time change.
-Work is slow, but hopefully picking up. (some good prosects out there)
-I am sick of all of this snow.
-I'm working hard on the house, and hope to be living in a perfect sanctuary by the end of the week...HA!
One day at a time, one thing at a time, one moment at a time.
Just trying to be present in the here and now.
XO, M.
