Nuk Gate, 2009

Sleep is still suffering around here. It's 6:19, and I have already been up for more than a half hour with Mr. Monkey. He was hungry, I guess. Back in the happy nuk days, we could have popped that sucker back in like a snooze button and slept until 7am. Ahh, sweet sleep. How I miss you.
Last night, I was trying to get some things done in the kitchen, and I whipped up sticky lemon bread (2 loaves) lemon chicken, and caramel pie. Truth be told, I really wanted to eat that pie, but after a bite, my stomach told me to reconsider. It's so good, I just couldn't handle all of that sugar. One bite was fabulous, though.
I still have 4 lemons to use up. Any recipe suggestions?
Hope you have a good day- dentist for me today.
FUN!

Nuk, were you even worth it?

Today, Henry cried in his crib for almost 2 hours. At that point, it was clear he would not take a nap, so I went to get him and fed him some lunch.
Man, This is getting worse by the day- not better.
I'm going to need some help if he doesn't start sleeping soon.
It was a long day so far. I just wish he would nap so I could nap.
aaaaaaargh!

Nuk, no more.

So, Henry loved his nuk. We only let him have it at naptimes (or when on a plane where we really don't want him to scream...) but he LOVED his nuk.
We decided 27 months was the time to let it go.
Now, I hope this is not cruel or unulual punishment, but I am really worried about his teeth. He has beautiful little teeth, all straight and nice, and if we liet him to continue to have the nuk, I don't think they will remain all perfect and nice. So, this weekend was deemed the time for the switcheroo.
Saturday, he took his nap with only a few tears, and nuk, nuk, nuk requests.
Saturday night, he cried with this horrible pained look on his face, puh-leeeeeease?!!!!? We did not have in.
Today was the same- not too bad for the nap (though he only slept an hour...) but bedtime! I thought he had a serious injury up there from the crying! Sweetie!
So, we made it through the first weekend. During the day he is fine, since he never has it then anyway. Hopefully it will get better.
XOXO, M.

oh, poo.

I woke up this morning to a sweet baby Henry covered in his own poo. He must have decided in the night it no longer belonged in his diaper, it belonged all over!
In his hair.
On his bear.
On his blankies.
Dried under his fingernails.
On his Pajamas.
On his sheets.
ON. THE. CARPET.
on his nose! Gross.
Needless to say, Mama has been doing laundry all Day, and Henry had a bath at 7am.
It's all clean now. BLECH.

Celebrate!

Tonight, I felt well enough to eat for the first time in 10 days.
Now, let me be clear, I've been eating. But a bite here and a nosh there, not real meals.
I made Quesadillas with salsa and Guac, and it was wonderful. (I made one- it was only me...)
I could taste it!
I think I am almost to the end of this death virus. YAY!!!

8 days...

I am now 8 days into this sickness. I am done. Sicky sickerson, please leave.
I was worse today than the past couple of days, I slept in past 10 (WOW!) and took a 3 hour nap (again, HOLY COW!!)
I'm watching the volvo sell on e-bay, then it is time for a hot shower and bed.
Whew. Sickness takes it out of you.
